You know its never good when the us or china sponsor infrastructure. They always want something back that is not money. Usually its intelligence but you never know. There are plenty of examples of african countries “getting helped” and it turns out it was so they could be spied on.

  • Tbh the best case would an open source fitness tracking watch. After some research the two hardest things are pulseox(even garmin watches are kinda inaccurate on ox) and battery life. I think its possible but most open source watches aim at the budget sector while a real fitness tracker sadly needs to be pretty expensive. It would be pretty cool if you had a bunch of sensors and you could just do anything with them(make custom workouts, sleep tracking, etc). If you think about it a smartwatch om hardware level is basically a nunch of sensors and the software just takes data, processes it and then spits out new data thats easier to understand.

When i was 9 my sister gave me a laptop she put ubuntu on and it pretty much worked for me. I have a pretty good sense for computers and maths so that probably helped. And on another note, no i didnt get trauma from unrestricted access to the internet because i never searched for stuff like that. The first time I started seeing(and thus avoiding) gore/shock videos was when my classmates also got devices. I think if you teach your kid well they will learn to avoid these things but be carefull because other parents(especially today) dont teach their kids about safety. Your milage may vary, im not a parent.
