I do believe that people operate at different vibrational frequencies…like you know the person who comes in the room and there’s just a creepy dark energy? It happens. Its not voodoo weird stuff but there’s definitely a 6th sense about people that’s present.

1·13 days agoI will say console gaming ended its good era when “avatars” and online only became a thing. Killed it for me. So any console after 360 to me is worthless (switch is ok ish)

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What Was the Golden Era of Video Games?
2·13 days agoWhich is why now is the best time. I can turn on my 2600 right now and play. Or emulate every atari game ever made on a $20 computer (i prefer real hardware though)
I have 2600/7800/nes/SNES/n64/ps1/ps2/Dreamcast/360/switch and PC. There’s few games I can’t play.
Now in 20 years a lot of those systems will be unfixable and rare. So I’d say we are in the golden age now, start playing!!

5·14 days agoNah I get that. I spend hours and money modding or fixing consoles and then hardly play them. I just enjoy the hard stuf. And I’m not very good at games.
That’s my plan! Using their server, it works flawlessly for now. Love it. Donated right away to em

12·19 days agoMy young friend was like , why would you have to pay for a server?? And I’m Like bud, if you aren’t paying, you are the product. They don’t get concepts like servers and that they are offsite hardware…hard for them to conceptualize.
Yes it is!
I made the sales guy come back and he rewired it and put an outdoor temp sensor, the proper way. No WiFi shit here.
Can’t one still sandbox google play for apps like hotel key cards and airlines ? That’s my big concern because I need those.
Awesome. Makes me wanna get a unlocked pixel now!! But I wanna get a little more use out of this s23 and I have everything on it
I have no idea. I am guessing it would be locked.
right now it’s on a vlan but I have it isolated. I refuse to believe it’s not going to work without wifi. I’m just going to disable the wifi and see. My old Trane from 1987 didn’t have this issue. Old things truly were better ;)

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Is it worth even trying with a samsung?
1·1 month agoI did, and this is great! Seems very cheap for what it can do. Is it worth having both next dns and mullvad? Or do they interfere ?
Ive never found public transport to be good in American cities. Its always loud, smells, and is dangerous. Im sure its better elsewhere.
I do love driving, and I hate large vehicles on the road. But no one around here is ever going to use public transport. (Town of about 300k.).
There are busses, only the homeless and drug addicts use them.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Outside of politics, have you ever had a position on something that you have doubled down on and refused to move an inch on to the point of upsetting someone? Were you right?
2·1 month agoIve thought about going smartphone free, but I literally need it for a lot of 2fa stuff and travel.
However, all I do on it is, read, read lemmy, and talk to friends. Sometimes play nethack. Im not on toxic social media. So other than being on lemmy a little too much, I dont think its a bad thing to have, minus all the spyware, which I hope to get a pixel or light phone someday to rid that.
What I do think is good and needed more is respecting it. I dont need to be on it when im with friends. I dont need to look at it first thing in the morning. I dont need it when im in public and could sit contently or talk to a neighbor. Usually on weekends I leave it in my sock drawer and check it once or twice (unless i just need it for 2fa)

I’d recommend reading The Power Of Now. Its actually life changing. If this book replaced all religions, I bet we would have close to a utopia overnight.
The premise is simple, and you highlighted it in your stories. There is nothing but the Now. Dwelling on the bad past is pain. The worry of the future is pain. There can be no joy in either. All you ever have is the Now.
It takes mind training to get into that mindset, but its truly freeing. There’s no sky daddy. No misogonyst racist preachers. Its just You, Life, and Now.
And I am not some hippy dippy person who thinks energy crystals make you younger. I’m a wrencher and a PC nerd and I don’t do yoga. But I definitely recommend that book to everyone.
