I have no context for this but it’s still hilarious somehow.
1812 Overture is a classical concert piece that has cannons wrote into the sheet music
That’s fucking insane.
It was written to commemorate the defeat of Napoleon, which was kind of a big deal.
Well it WAS written in 1880, which was during The Great Binge when everyone was on every drug at all times 😁
Man why can’t I have been born in a wealthy family of that era, get fucked and go listen to the opera or frolic in perfectly manicured gardens, sounds great.
I actually think that part of the reason for all the drugs was because they got so very bored with the frolicking and needed something to make it more interesting 😉
It’s so much fun to play this piece to an unsuspecting audience.
I’d be getting pretty suspicious once I saw the cannons though.
Beat me to it 😂
1813 overture is the classical piece that usually goes with fireworks (and at the beginning of V for Vendetta if you saw that).
And Mickey Mouse Clubhouse always starts with 3 or 4 tools that will be used to solve a problem in an episode, but 1 tool is kept a secret till they need it.
It also plays when you get a multiball in Peggle
Oh, right. Good one.
I must admit I didn’t find it particularly enjoyable… But thank you very much for the link!!!
Even as someone who likes the piece, I’d say “cacophonous” is an accurate descriptor in places. Although I think that was Pyotr’s intention - it’s a great example of programme music, which definitely isn’t for everyone.
This made me lol. My kids are too old for these shows, but this is one of those shows I hated watching. But the kids love it!
My oldest (now 10) loved that shit. The songs, man. They bored through my brain.
