I have an established system with my office peers/subordinates. If I knock on your door/pod wall and you give me a thumbs down. I won’t bother you but they also know to follow up with me when they are done with whatever they were working on. It’s a good system of mutual respect.
Got a guy at work who gets frustrated when he has to repeat himself because someone was listening to something. Well guess what - even if I wasn’t listening to something I’d be so far in my own head you’d have to repeat yourself anyway.
This happened to me, but it was “have you heard of our lord and savior” rather than just a hi, so I was very pissed.
Or you could just… socialize 🤔
You’re the guy in the orange shirt, aren’t you?
Why?
I don’t get paid for that
You are not owed interpersonal interaction because you want it.
“WHY ARE YOU SO QUIET???”
Libraries = extroverts’ worst nightmare.
Who goes to libraries these days? I just “download” books.
It’s like fishing. I don’t HAVE to do it. But I enjoy the atmosphere. It’s one of the last things I have left in this world from my youth. I spent almost every free minute I could in school in either the library or computer lab.
