Note: very dependent on a recent yt-dlp on your system. Install it manually using yt-dlp from their website and drop it into your path unless you use Arch or something bleeding edge.
I use a FF extension that routes videos to mpv from the context menu.
For my phone, I use Vanced
For my Android TV, I use Smarttube.

Well four is just a bit absurd
I had a 15 year marriage that ended rough, and I’ve spent the last three years of it and the last year out of it, basically suicidal. I’ve gone on a date or two, and realized I can’t be happy with anyone until I’m happy. I try more every day, but it’s hard to shake off the idea that the love of your life already came and went, and everything from here on out is just like, some old piece of machinery trying to stay relevant in a world that doesn’t need or want it anymore. Online dating also feels more like a ripoff than something actually meant to work and I’ve decided if I ever do date, it will just be inside my current friend circle, and since there’s no one there… hm, yep.
Set sail, matey. The actors are on strike anyway. You can afford to hate a corporation or two.
Nextcloud needs a heaping helping of a disclaimer before anyone installs it.
Use the Docker or Podman images, they’ll include most things a lot of first time users leave out that render Nextcloud buggy and inconsistent. It includes a cache, and about half of the security issues preconfigured out of the box.
Installing it native from a guide with zero explanation beyond “welp, there’s the start page” as the final step really doesn’t do much for people and there’s a lot of guides out there like that for Nextcloud.
Not really. What if it’s your VPN? Mine allows me access to my home network, which is its primary focus, but it also obfuscates what my phone is doing online, and blocks trackers.
(Adguard home and wireguard)
It also lets me use my phone on 4chan… so there’s that.
I’ve never heard anyone complain about it, tbh.
The menu functions of a DVD are meant to work with the firmware of DVD players, which is a function Jellyfin doesn’t really cover.
The usual to-do is just have commentary tracks ripped and placed in the same spot as other language tracks, and bonus features placed in folders alongside the original video.
I’m sure it doesn’t really matter, either but we aren’t arguing that, so…
buys another used Thinkpad on eBay
If it ain’t broke…
Odd consideration, but… I use 16Gb of ram and I have zero swap space and I’ve never seen a freeze in the three years this system has been assembled.
It could just be the way I tend to use my PC, light photo manipulation, some audio editing, some gaming just not AAA. I’m never stressing my system unless I’m opening a compressed file or rendering a video.
The utilities that replace the utilities you’re used to on X11 work great, so do the utilities that already work on X11.
That’s um… not the best motivation.
Ubuntu, no encryption, select boot to desktop by default when the system installs.
Like, really?
This doesn’t make it to reddit, bro.
It’s too good for them.
Yeah, I take regular breaks to go fuck around on 4chan from time to time and rather than come back for my seasonal reddit adventure, I chose Lemmy.
Basically a drop-in replacement. Does Infinity have support yet?

“docile alligator wants to continue relations with Reddit and make Infinity subscription based so he’s obviously not going to do this himself (since that would definitely end relations with Reddit by breaking terms of service).”
Ughhh LAME
Here’s my piracy shtick.
I beat half of Blasphemous on a pirated copy then I bought it, moved the save file and kept playing.
Criteria: I like the game. I’ll probably play it again in ten years and I want to support the devs.
What would’ve happened if I never pirated it? I’d be saying the same thing about someone else’s game.
