Meanwhile in Scotland. Even with a worst case scenario we loose our coastal cities but not much else and the country looks nearly indistinguishable from orbit. Unfortunatley more or less all our cities are costal.

Actually a lot of venom is perfectly edible so long as you don’t have a stomach ulcer or cut in your mouth or something.
I can never get past the geoguesser part
Tor was always comrpomised, the point has never been to be uncrackable, the point is that tracking down an induvidual user is enough effort that it can’t just be done on mass like with normal internet traffic. If you draw direct attention to yourself then it isn’t going to save you.
I still have a half-joke conspiracy theory that the information that placebos work even if you know they’re placebos is in itself benevolent misinformation to induce a real placebo effect about placebos you know are placebos.
No idea, that would be an interesting followup study.
I read recently that chickens pass the mirror test but don’t really give a damn about their own reflection so the researchers had to use an alternative method to prove it. They found that lone cockerals don’t crow because there are no other chickens to alert, they will crow in the presence of even one other chicken but will not crow when left with just their own reflection, implying they know its not another chicken.
Gravitational waves do cause orbital decay as the energy required to create them comes from the objects own momentumn.
Not to mention googles push for an identification standard that would effectively ban any non chromium browser from all major websites.
This ones from 2019 Link
I was a bit off the mark, its not that the models they use aren’t black boxes its just that they could have made them interpretable from the beginning and chose not to, likely due to liability.
iirc it recently turned out that the whole black box thing was actually a bullshit excuse to evade liability, at least for certain kinds of model.
I got one!, there are only 3 trees in existence (only 1 mature enough to fruit and 2 cuttings) rn and the apples taste kinda like pears but with an apple texture.
The placebo effect also works even if you know its a placebo… Though sometimes I wonder if that information is in itself some kind of benevolent false information campaign to create a second layer of placebo effect around placebos. A placebo effect of the placebo effect working even if you know about it as it were.
I see it as trying to combat the dystopia where not only is our data scraped but now every single thing we write, draw or film is fed into an AI that will ultimately be used to create huge amounts of wealth for very few, essentially monetizing our very existence online in a way thats entierly unavoidable and without consent.
In addition its entierly one way, google and others can grab as much of our data as they want while most of us would have an extremely hard time even getting granted a freedom of information request about ourselves, let alone grabbing a similar amount of data about those same corporations.
Still being figured out, recent measurements made the hubble tension worse and we’re currently trying to better understand how voids influence the movement of galaxies; one possible result which could be the discovery that the universe isn’t inflating at all (unlikely but credible enough to be investigated).
Eh pathfinder 2e is definetaly better than D&D but 1e is honestly really harsh in terms of character builds.
My personal issue with github is more the placement of the actual download links, sometimes its harder to find than the real download button on a dodgy pirate site without ad-block.
Damn thats an incredible degree of overreach and looks like it gives established companies the power to take down any rising competitions websites without oversight.
to be fair plenty of older games hold up today in terms of gameplay if you don’t mind dated graphics (or if the game uses a timeless visual style). There are a few that I’d totally pay full price for a re-release simply because its hard to get them to run on modern systems.
On the bright side a lot of the most valuble beach front tower blocks are just huge empty investment vehicles so the rich are going to take one for the team on this one.
