Of course it’s your right to choose, but I’m not convinced that’s a good enough reason. The well-meaning and honest people can make their own judgements about their employer and decide whether or not to include GPL code. Even if you change your license there will still be GPL code out there and corporations don’t need any more handouts.

If not, is there anything as private as Tor for torrents?English4·5 days agoI’ve used I2P for torrents and it’s fine. There’s plenty of popular stuff on Postman. The speeds are slower partly to the network but partly due to number of seeders, so I encourage everyone to get on there. Just be patient and there’s no problem.

The best posture is the next posture.
I wouldn’t use Copilot for this, as it may be using some older info on you that it already has. There are lots of “whatismyip” type sites that can try to guess your location. Failing that, see what region Google serves you ads from—any YouTube ads I get are always from my VPN endpoint country/region.
Also, just try plain old Tor Browser to compare with your setup.

Indeed it is difficult to hammer it in to shape. In addition, Microsoft will often quietly reset setting back in their favour. It’s that constant fight that tipped the scales for me.
My main issue with Windows isn’t its technology, but its attitude. The user is no longer the most important consideration. In that way it’s become adversarial.
Is that still the case if you use it in a flatpak e.g., Bottles?
