I remember the ones that you had to break apart from when I was a kid. The modern ones are all cast so that there’s nothing to break apart; you just grab a little slice of the sphere.

It’s also an American thing. Historically, one would give oranges (citrus, which is ripe late in the year) and chocolate. Somehow that turned into this.

1·2 months agoYou would still need to crush the cloves first if you want them to impart much garlic flavor. Tossing them in whole doesn’t release much oil at all.

11·2 months agoI have to agree and think this is really underappreciated. People hypercorrected from “powdered garlic is a terrible substitute for fresh garlic” to “you should only ever use fresh garlic”. They taste different and sometimes you will benefit from using powdered or granulated.

Yeah, I don’t get it.
Afraid of, destroyed by–tomato, tomato.
Just need to get those native plants growing and they can usually take care of themselves.
That’s why some of us try to grow a pollinator garden. I’m not quite there yet because the property I bought was all paved in concrete, but I’m getting there. So many types of bees. It’s beautiful to see. And others like butterflies are coming now, too.
Yep, pretty much any leafy green or allum. Various others as well.
In my experience, ‘bulb’ refers to the part that’s in the ground. The part you pictured is called a ‘scape’.
And yes, they are delicious.
Same, but it makes the bees happy.
That’s how it works for other mammals as well. Your dog has spots? Shave it and it will still have spots.
Crocodiles are the ones that eat full-grown adults.
I do!
