This is explicitly against their TOS. Whether or not you’ll be found out is a whole other matter
It’s good opsec to have a VPN when torrenting but thats largely due to the risk of being identified commiting a crime.(Or at the very least, having your ISP send you an angry letter about copyright infringement)
If thats not part of your threat model, then you dont need to worry.
The Internet Archive is right up there with Wikipedia in terms of public good they have done.
It’s a travesty thet they even need to fight this.
Maybe not a super beginner question, but what do awk and sed do and how do I use them?
Good. Ad blocking is security and anyone that tells you different both doesn’t care about your computer security, and also wants to sell you something.
That 2/3 to 3/4 of computer programmers, computer security experts and advertisers seems low. I feel like that should be closer to 90%
This is almost certainly Ubuntu server
If you have both the skillset and the mind for it, red team cybersecurity is super interesting, but it’s hard to get into and even harder to do well
Exactly that. Elemental mercury (ie: the liquid metal form) doesn’t readily absorb through the skin. It gives off vapors which are harmful with extended or repeated contact, but generally it’s not super dangerous to be around.(Not totally safe though)
Organic mercury compounds (eg: methylmercury) are extremely toxic because they can be absorbed through the skin, and can traverse the blood brain barrier
Eventually you’ll reach the point where instead of checking Netflix for X and settling for Y locally, you’ll just download X and watch it.
I built a cube(a curated collection of cards made for drafting) of all the worst Magic cards ever made.
Most of the cards are worth around $0.05, however my copy of Urza’s Miter currently goes for $22 because of it’s rarity
It’s kind of wild how tons of people in Alberta wear them considering the climate
I also use Veeam at home for this. It’s not FOSS, but it is still free, and works really well.
Sounds like you want Noscript in addition to uBO
I believe there was a recent EU ruling that mandated that this must be allowed.
I’m not sure of the details, however.
They’re mostly banking on the cost of change being higher than the inconvenience of staying.
It’s staggeringly uncommon for the desktop side of things outside of machines running a specialty app or a particularly tech-savvy IT guy.
The issue is that Windows is just really good at centralized user management and policy control. You can do all those things in Linux too but it’s significantly more complicated and harder to manage.
I use it to host a weekly remote movie night for some friends and I and it’s basically the perfect piece of drop-in software for that purpose.
It’s simple enough that non-technical people just need to click a button to connect and its protocol is low latency enough that we can all see and react to the same scene with no delay.
I like both quite a bit, and even got into the hobby culture for each.
Tea is simpler in preparation, but way more complex in terms of varieties. There is a huge difference between a chinese black tea and an assam black tea, even though its the same core ingredient, prepared in a similar fashion.
Coffee on the other hand has fewer varieties, but way more variables in preparation that can drastically change the flavor of your cup. The size of your grind, the brew temperature and the extraction time all have pretty major effects on thr end product.
