  • Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a frontend that uses its own algorithm and using YouTube’s one is impossible or money consuming without sacrificing privacy altogether. Open-source algorithms are in a very early stage. I’ve only heard of 1 or 2 experimental Lemmy or Mastodon local algorithm systems. I think creating one for YouTube is going to be much harder since the content is videos instead of text messages.

  • If possible, could you name what’s crucially missing?

User-friendly articles and answers on forums to absolutely all more or less common issues like what Mint, Arch, Ubuntu and other extremely popular distros/bases have. It’s very important for a new user imo. We shouldn’t overwhelm them with choices and technical documentation. If you don’t believe me, check some content creators. They all agree that we should just give them a popular distro like Mint or Ubuntu and let them progress as fast as they can.

  • apt

Apt can be improved with frontends and it doesn’t take 10 minutes to sync the repos.

Idk much about it but I heard it’s slow too.

But I’m not sure if I understand. Is it because Anaconda does not walk you (explicitly) through all parts of the installation (at least by default)?

And, instead, chooses to give the user an overview (at some point) in which the user is expected to go over each one of them by themselves.

Yea even archinstall might be better than this design lol.

X11. Though I don’t remember if they decided to drop it before explicit sync was introduced for NVidia drivers or after.
