I’m not the most experienced with Ubuntu, but the way that comes to mind is setting up shortcuts manually to try to match MacOS. It would be a bit tedious honestly. I’m hoping somebody comes along and knows of a library that already does that.

I feel like no one is addressing the fact that this shouldn’t be happening very frequently as your making it sound. Either you’re drinking too much, to the point of being alcoholic. That or something is wrong with your body.

The Indicator by Planet Money from NPR: they talk about what they feel are important indicators for the current economy, and expand on various economic topics in ways that I think anybody can understand, and are rather short.

The 1A from NPR: they talk about various topics that are affecting the US. They like to get people to chime in with their views, and have some experts on the topics to discuss context and how certain groups are or aren’t pushing for changes. Its usually close to an hour long, and not all topics interest me, but they do talk about fake news, presidential elections, housing, mental health etc.

Planet Money from NPR: longer form discussions of economics, somewhat similar to the Indicator, but not as short form and they really expand on economic stories that I think are really interesting. Some topics include how, many, random people, can relatively accurately determine the weight of a cow (and how this defines the economy), the real estate trail that recently occurred and its background.

The OP is asking for inspiration related to a specific culture. Secluded boredom will not help you learn about things to write about a specific culture.

I don’t really think Japan has a worse issue than basically most other European and american companies. I’d be surprised if Japan has a higher shoplifting rate than the countries in the Americas to where individualized plastic wrapping is actually a deterrent. Maybe security theater i guess.

Speculating: I think its a form of marketing. In the US and in Europe, people don’t care too much about the thickness of the plastics but in Japan and some other asian countries, thick plastic wrapping is a sign of good quality.

Too add to the comment: the biggest issues I’ve experienced usually isn’t replacing the actually piece I need to replace, but accessing the piece i need to replace and learning how to do certain things.

To change my water pump, I had to creatively figure out a way to hold a rotating piece, while also loosening a bolt on it. After taking 30ish minutes looking for ways to do so, I can now do it in like 5 minutes.

I also had to learn that lowering my engine makes the above easier which required a specific set of tools to make the job possible/faster.

You should be able to use a c-clamp to push back the piston. The only specialized tool I bought related to changing brakes was the tools for installing and uninstalling the drum brakes. Even those aren’t necessary but they do help and I’ve done my brakes enough where the extra cost is worth the time and frustration I save personally.

Yeah I usually do 2 passes as well using only a staging soap(no pre shave oil). If you prefer to do things faster, I will say a fixed blade is usually faster. I personally don’t mind the extra time, considering it’s cheaper and better for the environment to use a DE (so long as you don’t give in to the urge to keep buying a bunch of razors, soaps lol)
