I’ve been wanting to make a collection, but ironically now as storage solutions are becoming more expensive I’m between a rock and a hard place. I could spend the stupid prices for more hard drive space and then grab more. Alternatively I could take some existing smaller hard drives and use them for storage.

If I hadn’t gotten laid off last month I likely would have just expanded while things are still (relatively) affordable. But idk now. I might just stretch things where I can and hope that the bubble pops sooner rather than later

Right now my idea is to store things i find that are more niche or less likely to be shared in the future and i’ll cycle things that are more popular or that will stand the test of time

If you don’t need the latest stuff, a new 3ds XL has a lot to offer. (If you dont care about the 3D, a new 2DS is also a great way to go)

No idea what happens nowadays also probably depends on your location too, but a friend of mine downloaded fallout 4 when it released and his isp disabled their houses internet until he went to a web page and checked off a box saying “i have deleted the following file(s) from my machine” lol

It was a tame outcome relatively speaking, but it could have been worse.

I have purchased far more than I’ve ever obtained. In some cases I’ve double dipped and purchased multiple times.

The main issue is “can I obtain it legally and pay the original creators?” And secondary is “is this item reasonably priced and delivered in an accessible way?”.

The last game I grabbed was the Sims 4 + dlc a very very long time ago. The last show i grabbed was probably an anime with fan subtitles.

I don’t have an answer for you, but wanted to say that ffxv is a very unique experience and I really enjoyed it. Watch the anime episodes on youtube and check out the movie too! No other game has given me that “road trip with your friends” vibes like this
