I find it interesting how the Mongolian empire has kind of taken a 180 in its historical image. Not long ago they were viewed as just cartoon villains that destroyed everything. But now you see so many people talking about some of the “good” aspects that it almost makes them seem strangely benevolent.
The reality of course was that they were an empire, and like all empires they steamrolled and destroyed anything that stood in their way while taking advantage of anything that furthered their goals. They probably killed far more people than they helped if you asked anyone living through the time.
Dan Carlin’s podcast, Hardcore History, has a series called Wrath of the Khans where he talks about this in length and it’s very interesting to think about.
Yeah, why is it “just chance”? I don’t understand the idea that animals have no emotions, it’s weird.

Only if they’re independent developers of the game, which is why you shouldn’t pirate little indie games. Otherwise they already got paid as much as they’re gonna get paid, only people losing money when you pirate a game are the executives.

Yeah I am a proponent of wasps but some of the paper wasps can be really mean. I mostly live around mud daubers and the like who are very chill and just hang out in my front yard
Considering we’re already just killing off native bee populations anyway, probably not
Wait until you learn what spiders kill
I’m so glad someone made this joke for me, I couldn’t think of a funny way to make it on the original post
I’ve had it before and it was actually more annoying than scary. I even had a hallucination with it, I saw a shadowy figure standing in the doorway to my room. rather than being scared I was just annoyed and frustrated that they weren’t closing the door and I couldnt get up to do it myself. It was like reality and dream logic were weirdly combined for a while.

People use a lot of proprietary software because it’s their job, why would you want to use a program requiring you to relearn an entire operating system, is more difficult to initially setup and generally has less features and support when you can just… Use the thing that works? I understand where you’re coming from but there’s a lot of fields where using Linux is just not reasonable and your response here is just obnoxious and part of why Linux has the reputation it does
You joke, but they did have that Pacman Championship game a few years back that was basically just a flashy pacman reboot
