Which doesn’t solve the problem for either me or the person who asked the question, yes I know better than to get a Samsung now, but I plan on keeping my phone for as long as I can regardless

“Buy a different phone” is not an option for everybody

mostly same here, with occasionally trying out some chromium based browsers, never understood why Firefox is referred to as an “alternative” by so many people, chrome is the alternative

I swear the Deck’s announcement was perfectly timed, at least for me. It was right as I was having major problems with windows and even then proton kinda just worked for me, and it’s only gotten better sense!

Oh hey, same here! I’ve always been pretty poor so open source programs were the easiest way to do a lot of things
And can I just say, GIMP opens way faster in linux it really took me by supprise the first time
They are making jokes about file types, .exe doesn’t work in windows without a translation layer, such as wine, whereas .sh is a scripting file type
I would like to know this as well, I’ve heard it a few times on lemmy but never any explanation about it
Also I don’t use nobara yet but I plan to when my Q2 framework 16" arives

I don’t tend to use word documents much anymore, but from what I’ve heard, of the 2 main open source document viewers Only Office probably has the most compatibility with word, and iirc it recently added PDF support
