  • The issue is if you tune them out what’s left? It’s most of the content here.

Hell just the other day there was a “what new tech thing have you done this year?” And 95% of the responses were just some variation of “Installed Mint/PopOS!/Endeavour and started using Firefox.”

Like it’s great that you’re making the transition, but I was hoping to hear what new self hosting service people got working on their home server, some new residential network installs for security platforms, etc.

    Not just “I changed browsers.”

  • It’s funny because I’ve built like six Windows machines and the install process is always a snap. You just select what drive to install to, what telemetry options you want on/off, and then press start.

You don’t even have to have an Internet connection/Microsoft account if you don’t want to, you can just create a local one.

I don’t understand how you guys have such a hard time with it. Certain distros of Linux are pretty easy to get going, but Windows is only hard if you refuse to leave your Linux knowledge bubble, ever.

Sure we can talk about how you have to go in and do X and Y in order to get it configured how YOU want, but that shit applies in Linux too.

  • I had a similar experience but with a book about Dinosaurs that contained scientifically accurate eons, etc.

I started to piece together that while we might not be 100% correct all the time, YEC doesn’t even have an alternative. They just try and debunk evolution but have no scientific method/knowledge that proves they’re correct.

Where’s all the geological science that shows a 6000 year old earth? None. There should be competing theories, but instead it’s just “you’re wrong, trust me bro.”
