I think it falls into the same pitfalls as most super niche communities, like a lot of subreddits did.

For example, the shaving subreddit (/r/wicked_edge I think?). Its mission statement was to introduce people to cleaner, safer, and more efficient shaving methods. And for the most part, with all of its resources and wikis, it successfully did it. But if you choose to stay after you’ve made your informed purchases, the posts were mostly braggarts showing off their latest hundreds-of-dollars handles, supreme razor blades, brushes made from actual gold, that sort of thing. My point is, the average person (by my guess, like 90% of people going to the site) gets the information they need and then never participate in the community again. But those who stay are those who really want to stay– people who are most likely to brag and boast. So over time, it falls more and more into plain old dick measuring contests.

This obviously isn’t true of all communities, but I think it’s a common pitfall for a lot of them. I can imagine privacy is very similar: take all the steps you can to learn to protect your privacy, and then… you’re good, for the most part.

Previously, I had never ever seen a movie in theaters twice. If I had seen a movie once and wanted to watch it again, I could wait to buy it for myself. It just didn’t ever make much sense to me as to why anyone would watch the same movie multiple times in like a one-month time span.

And then Everything Everywhere All At Once came out, and I saw it again the week after I saw it the first time, and then I understood. What a fantastic movie.

A very wrong proof once showed that the sum of all positive integers (1 + 2 + 3 + 4…) was -1/12. In reality, the infinite sum has no solution, so this proof became something of a meme.

Butter Chicken (curry), usually. It’s so stupid easy, it just takes a few hours of marinade and simmer time. But you’re just frying chicken cubes, boiling together tomatoes, onions, spices etc, blending it together, and serving. Couldn’t be simpler, and it is always delicious.

Right, it’s only a problem because we chose base ten (a rather inconvenient number). If we did math in base twelve, 1/3 in base twelve would simply be 0.4. It doesn’t repeat. Simply, then, 1/3 = 0.4, then (0.4 × 3) = (0.4 + 0.4 + 0.4) = 1 in base twelve. No issues, no limits, just clean simple addition. No more simple than how 0.5 + 0.5 = 1 in base ten.

One problem in base twelve is that 1/5 does repeat, being about 0.2497… repeating. But eh, who needs 5? So what, we have 5 fingers, big whoop, it’s not that great of a number. 6 on the other hand, what an amazing number. I wish we had 6 fingers, that’d be great, and we would have evolved to use base twelve, a much better base!
