Kodi is ideal for an HTPC
I don’t really remember, that was a few years ago. I’ve been using the flatpak ever since.
For me it was actually the other way around, I had issues with the normal package so I went with the flatpak.
mail.tm is pretty nice for this. It’s meant to be used as a throwaway email service, but you can also save the login credentials and reuse the email address if you need it more than one time.
IMO the best Linux desktop experience that you can get right now
I don’t know how Lemmy deals with Mastodon links, but they work on here on Kbin/Mbin and should also work when viewing the post on Mastodon/Firefish/Sharkey directly
@linkwarden@fosstodon.org, Nextcloud Bookmarks and xBrowserSync should be the best options. Other options are Floccus, LinkAce, @omnivore@pkm.social and @wallabag@social.tcit.fr
True, just wanted to mention that they make other great stuff. You can basically game on every Linux distro, it doesn’t have to be gaming-focused.
Or Universal Blue in general. They also make Aurora and Bluefin, both are amazing!
You mean Bazzite? Yeah, it’s really great. Based on uBlue, which is actually based on Fedora’s Atomic spins. It’s very stable, secure and reliable, and pretty hard to mess up. Basically the closest thing to SteamOS that you can get.
uBlue Bazzite is pretty cool, Fedora/Nobara, Pop!_OS, Mint, etc. mostly just work, Gauda is arch-based, is optimized for gaming and performance and is pretty user friendly.
It’s from Software Freedom conservancy, they regularly publish such great articles. These guys do a whole bunch of great work in general, I highly recommend checking their other articles, maybe follow them on Mastodon (@conservancy@social.sfconservancy.org) or donate a few bucks to support them.
You can self-host Lemmy-Search, it’s probably the best option right now. Unfortunately their official instance is down, what a shame that no one else is hosting a public instance.
They are working on support for Tor, I2P and other networks: https://radicle.xyz/faq#is-there-a-way-to-run-radicle-over-tor-i2p-or-other-censorship-resistant-networks
Create a torrent, it will stay up as long as someone keeps seeding it.
