25 days agoI saw similar when looking for work as a graphic designer, with duties that can be summarised as “design our printed materials, build our website (with JavaScript knowledge required), and also plan our marketing strategy”.
Then when I mentioned this in a Clients from Hell comment section, I got someone defend the practice with that small companies can’t afford to hire separate people for the 3 separate skillsets…

I think an important point is that with the decline of Pinterest’s popularity, most of their data was probably acquired many years before genAI became mainstream. (Like I think I only used it around 2008-2010.) So most users probably never imagined their data could be used for training like this in the future.
