  • Disable those non connected options

You don’t really believe that companies actually stop monitoring the shot out of you, right?

Just don’t connect your smart TV to the Internet. Instead get some opens source TV stick, dump jellyfin on it, make your own little library and go nuts

  • Awesome!

Always great to see updates on this and hopefully hopefully finally it gets to the point where it can compete with Netflix for my wife… I have a nice library but she refuses to use jellyfin (on Google TV device) because well, too many bugs, too many broken features still. Soon though!

I for one would love to finally see that scrubbing with thumbnail images work, like Netflix does. Supposedly it’s been there for years now but it never once worked for me

Also improvement in subtitles would be nice, it’s still a headache to get subtitles to work well, even though it’s a lot better than before

The UI (at least on Google TV) really should be improved as well, it is almost impossible to nicely look for movies with larger libraries. I want to watch a comedi movie, let’s see what I have? Go to movies, which get this weird in between screen where I have to select by genre, name, and a few other options. Okay, select genre. Then I get rows for each genre and each row has tiny icons for each of the hundreds of movies all on one row, sorted alphabetically… so I scroll, and scroll and scroll and… well, scroll some more and 20 seconds later, I’m at “B”

I’d hope to be able to say something like "show me Comedy movies, and I have a full screen grid of all Comedy movies where I can oder by name, year, etc… maybe sub filtering? And I’d like much MUCH bigger icons

Anyways, not trying to complain, just hoping I can one day actually give my wife the remote and that she watches whatever she wants to watch. The current UI is ready for power users like me, but not the average user yet

  • Has anyone else noticed that suddenly boat loads of sites suddenly complain about “suspicious activities non your account” and blocked your account?

But don’t worry! All you need to do is give them all your private information, your passport, your driver’s license, and your first born and it’ll all be fine!

I’m in rather desperate need of a job, 2 more weeks and I’ll have to leave the country I called home for 5 years now because I’m not allowed to work here anymore and I can only get international remote jobs… So I’m desperately looking for sites like remote.com and two of these fuckers already blocked my account right after registration “because of suspicious activities on my account”. You mother fuckers, I haven’t even had the time to be suspicious, I just registered.

Bit alas, since I have no choice, I must sendy passport and personal data and biometrics (face) to persona.com or be fucked

I hate the world we live in, I hate it.

I just want to enjoy my quiet life. I don’t need a Lamborghini, I don’t need expensive shit, I like a little bit of computer, not even gaming, but nope, can’t have nice things, can’t enjoy anything anymore, the rich need more

    Fuck this shit

The real problem is getting the music

Is have a Spotify playlist of some 7000+ songs I want to have but finding each one individually is a nightmare. Are there ways to just put the list into some arr system and have it automatically torrented or pulled from Usenet or something like that?

  • And you think these assholes won’t just raze that stuff without a care in the world? Because they will. After that they’ll be sued which will end with a small slap on the hand, combined with “oh you!” and that’s it

It’ll relatively cost you more to buy that tree and plant it, than it’ll cost them to just ignore all that
