yeah, I’d really like a thing like jellyseerr that’s easy to hook into the *arrs for browsing for suggested/popular/new music.

Funny thing, I tried using newsgroups for their intended purpose after rediscovering that Thunderbird is also a newsreader. The amount of topics is large (and really old), but the ones I checked out haven’t had many updates. Though i admit I haven’t been brave enough to dive into the alt. group yet. It reminds me of the internet before the web.
I’ve been saying this for over a year. The era of free stuff on the internet is coming to a close. Be prepared to pay or self host things you’re used to getting for free. It’s what got me into self hosting.
From the translation notes on Job 6:23
The עָרִיצִים ('aritsim) are tyrants, the people who inspire fear (Job 15:20; 27:13); the root verb עָרַץ ('arats) means “to terrify” (Job 13:25).
The NET translation
Or ‘Deliver me from the enemy’s power, and from the hand of tyrants ransom me’?
It’s exactly why I really like the NET translation. Getting context for why or how the original text gets translated to English is incredibly valuable to me. Here in this context I’m sure aritsim doesn’t literally mean tyrant, but the people became synonymous with the definition like “Shaka, when the walls fell” means failure.
King James notoriously removed mentions of the word tyrant in his English translations.
It’s why I like the NET translation as it includes translation notes from the original languages
It would have to distinguish between dirt and dust and clear coat, paint, primer, and metal.
It’s put into a semi truck trailer where other, many times heavier packages are most certainly placed on top of it. Those packages along with the beating it’ll take from the road that desperately need to never be paved with concrete as it goes cross country, it will take some dings. The only way to be sure it’s to make sure your package has adequate packing material.
Otherwise your cardboard box will turn into a cardboard sack.
Because it’s been so long since I’ve done any programming. I don’t remember syntax other than BASIC and I’m 80% sure my if statement is done incorrectly.
If your package looks like that after shipping, you didn’t use enough packing material.
10: pack your box
20: close box then shake
30: If contents of box rattle around add more packing material go to 20 else go to 40
40: tape box on seams and apply shipping label on box but not on box seams
50: give box to courier
Then you’ll love this video. He pets Blackberry throughout the video and has a segment at the end talking about sponsorblock blocking segments with Mr Clinton in them.
I remember when YouTube had background playback for free. An update broke it, then it was put behind a paywall.
There’s an algae that grows in diesel. Whatever additive you get make sure it’s got a biocide in it.
This came up a week ago. I made a chart:
Temps | easily relatable conditions |
---|---|
<0 | throw boiling water up in the air to make it snow |
0-10 | dangerous freezing cold |
10-20 | bitter freezing cold |
20-30 | freezing cold |
30-40 | coat cold |
50-60 | jacket cool |
60-70 | cool |
70-80 | pleasant |
80-90 | warm |
90-100 | hot |
100-110 | too damn hot for my fat ass/fry an egg outside |
One of the conclusions on why I like Fahrenheit over Celsius for weather is it’s ironically the most base 10 like for a non-SI scale. A phrase like “it’s going to be in the 70s today” has so much information in it. Usually with no weather changes like a front coming in, you’ll know that during the day it’ll be pleasant. At night the temperature range will drop by around 10 degrees and you’ll know you’ll likely need a light jacket or at least long sleeves to stay comfortable.
If metric wanted to adopt a scale with more graduations that could be easily grouped to 10s, that’d be great. I don’t know why 0-100 was arbitrarily chosen to be the scale for water instead of 0-1000.
For temp measurements outside of weather I really do prefer Celsius though.
Generally no, image quality on color lasers isn’t great but you can print them, just not great. I usually want glossy prints for frames but not often enough for me to print them at home on a consumer quality ink jet printer. I usually go to a print shop or somewhere that has a professional printer.
Hell, even CVS Walgreens and Walmart have better photo printers than any consumer off the shelf model.
How many photos are you printing to not use a professional service?
To be fair the butterfly keyboard was a really low bar to to clear
Came to say much of the same. If “be nice” is a guiding principal, defederation with a bogus reason then never refederating is a thing I’d like to see gone from the fediverse.
So don’t let the door hit ya on the way out

Well, yeah. My first interaction with the internet was a friend’s technical savvy dad who had compuserve.
