Ban evasion for one. Creating 6 accounts is not the way. If a post doesn’t go the way you hope just move on. It’s not the end of the world, nor is it a reason to create half a dozen other accounts just to repost it again and/or complain about your ban.
If you do not like this, find an instance more accepting of your behavior. But Retrolemmy is not the place for you.
The first account was banned in retrospect after the first 3 seemingly didn’t care about community rules. Retrolemmy will not be the instance to house people who don’t adhere to the community rules. If you decide to turn a new leaf I am prepared to unban your first account.
Or it’s a FOSS solution.
I’ve tried unattended-upgrades once. And I couldn’t get it to work back then. It might be more user friendly now. Or it could just be me.
Is there a way to remove having to enter my password for everything?
Wake computer from Screensaver? Password.
Install something? Password.
Updates (biggest one. Updates should in my opinion just work without, because being up to date is important for security reasons)? Password.
I understand sudo needs a password, but all the other stuff I just want off. The frequency is rediculous. I don’t ever leave my house with my computer, and I don’t want to enter a password for my wife everytime she wants to use it.
I don’t click piped links myself, but some people find them useful.
As for tldr bot, it’s useful insofar it gets an idea across for wether I want to read the article, but leaves out a lot of information, often vital to the story, and leaves in fluff.
They aren’t perfect, but useful for some.
As far as I know, the biblical description of angels are in line with the Torah and in extention with the Quran. The babies with angel wings is in comparison a very new concept. Depicted long after the Bible was written.
But you seem deeply invested in this religion, which is fine by me, but I am not. I see the similarities and just presume that whoever wrote the book read the others. I’m not saying I am right or wrong, or that you are. All I’m saying that the similarities are very much possible and, in my opinion, very probable in a non-religious sense.
Even religions before monotheism are very much alike, and probably stem from the same root. I don’t see anyone pushing for godly intervention or prophecies for that. But in all probability, the coincidence in that are probably similar to the coincidence in the Islam.
By that time Christianity existed, and most of the Middle East was the Roman empire. It’s not far fetched. The old testament of Christianity is basically the Torah texts freely translated and somewhat changed, and Christianity was by that time, thanks to constantine, the most widely spread religion in the Roman empire. It’s not a miracle or a coincidence. People traveled then, too. It’s about as far fetched as an American-born Buddhist these days. Not common, but it happens.
In fact, the silk road has existed for centuries, if not millenia by then. If they can trade with places as far as China, it’s not far fetched for a religion proven to be inspired by both Judaism and Christianity to have traveled a little over the Roman empire’s borders.
Edit: also Judaism was common in and out of the Roman empire too
They wrote it down, Monks (or the religion’s equivalent) copied them. Religious leaders read them aloud. It’s not hard to understand.
As always, people who could read, read religious texts for people who cannot. There’s no coincidence, just telling and retelling of stories once made up way before.

I agree. Though off-brand batteries can be a good replacement, if you find a reputable brand. I’ve replaced my battery with a bigger capacity off-brand battery, and it’s been working like a charm for 4 years now.
No problem. Good to know that information
If you go web browsing and text editing just get a 2nd hand one. Most laptops can do that. I would just replace the HD with an SSD if it doesn’t have one.
I have an old hp laptop of 12+ years. But hp is a bitch to replace the HDD. So that was an adventure.
Sounds like you damaged one of the ribbon cables. They can be very fragile sometimes.
As far as I know, they do get dmca’d. But they delete a single file so it’s incomplete. But if you have 2 different newsgroup providers they usually didn’t delete the same file, so you can still download it.
But I could be totally wrong because I haven’t really looked into this, and this is all from a very old memory.
Might be unpopular, but as a non-English native I hate that Americans need to abbreviate everything into acronyms. POSTUS, SCOTUS, AWOL, ASAP. If it’s not catchy as an abbreviation it needs a new name. I don’t mind it so much in small settings, but when you read anything about America and all the comments are full of acronyms it’s like a puzzle I never asked for.
