Yep. And I’d argue it’s an almost ethical responsibility for those aware of all this to preserve a media archive via piracy. Sort of like those monks that would repeatedly copy old scrolls before they would degrade or whatever.

What makes you think it was flagged for a large tip specifically, rather than just an unusually high transaction?
It still confused me how they would know it was a $20 steak and $80 tip versus 5x $20 steaks and no tip. It would appear the same, a $100 transaction at Bob’s Steakhouse.
Wouldn’t they just see the total?
Eventually people will say that about the current options lol.
There should be no default percent options at all. None.
‘complete transaction’ or ‘add optional tip’.
I was in a sauna at +95 Celsius for several minutes the other day. And within the same week I felt -35 Celsius cold on my bare skin.
Both could kill me provided a bit more exposure, but they don’t instantly. Meanwhile, +4 Celsius can also cause death by hypothermia pretty easily in the right circumstances.
So, while I like the idea, I think implementation will be hard as there is no clear death number on either end of the spectrum. Not to mention humidity, clothing, exertion, level of hydration, etc…
The freezing point of water seems a hell of a lot more relevant to what humans consider ‘cold’…which is why it’s the zero. The boiling point of water isn’t the zero in Celsius after all.
Also ‘cold’ as a concept is often represented with symbols related to frozen water such as snow flakes and icicles.
Certainly seems like a better idea than drinking dihydrogen monoxide… Monoxide means it only has one oxygen. That sounds dangerous and I hope people drinking it manage to get enough oxygen somehow.
Source?
From what I understand, it’s unknown if coconuts kill more people per year than sharks as death by coconut are not well tracked. But the specific number quoted of 150 isn’t legitimate. However, I can’t find anything about it being related at all to an experiment to see how far a lie could go though. Did someone tell you this? Definitely a possibility of some irony here…
Lol yep, any child who has played monopoly a few times can see how capitalism works. It always ends in one person having literally all the property and money… and generally with players quite upset at one another. And once all players have optimized the game, it simply becomes a game of luck.
A good while back we had no working model for a heliocentric solar system nor any solid indication of it…until we did. But I’m pretty sure the earth was going around the sun even before we realized it, and even before we existed at all.
A Brief History of Time was great! I’d also definitely recommend it to all.
We don’t need to know for it to be deterministic.
Sounds to me like we lack the understanding as to why there are different outcomes in what we perceive as identical circumstances.
A dice roll appears random too, but it isn’t if one understands all of the inputs and variables precisely.
Nope, not really. But even if we did have 2 completely different solved sets of physical rules for minuscule quantum stuff versus everything else, all events would still be casual. It wouldn’t change anything.
All things, including human life experiences, are absolutely and completely predetermined as part of a chain of causal events.
I feel like I just end up with more clammy from sweat in those gloves.
I would absolutely take a black screen over ads every single time.
They don’t have any real plumbing at all in a lot of places, which is exactly how this happens. Throwing various things into a pit toilet that will just be buried over doesn’t clog anything.
Yes. The first car I bought was manual and I had no experience driving manual. So my cousin test drove it for me near the sellers place and also drove it home. Then I taught myself over the next couple days on my home street before venturing further. It honestly wasn’t hard, and I’m so glad I went with that vehicle too looking back as it was a great car at a great price.
Adding some element of democracy (like voting on posts) could maybe improve both those marketplace sites.
I think it would improve any site really. Imagine how much better Instagram or Facebook would be if one could downvote stupid shit and the posters would see what people actually thought about their posts/comments. But that might lead to sads, and therefore less active users, so they won’t allow it.
Democracy is pretty cool though imo.
Some krill are basically the same size as a grain of rice though.
