Thanks, you just threw me into a “what the fuck is existence and why does anything exist?” spiral.

Sometimes it can. Google and Samsung never had an issue though. The more ad lists you setup the more false-positives you get.
But 99% of the time it’s fine. The other 1% you open the dashboard and look at the last few blocks and whitelist whatever it causing issues.
Yep. Very non-human or earth like at all in anatomy.

bdonvr@thelemmy.clubto Science Memes@mander.xyz•He's gonna be walking for a little bitEnglish6·2 months agoYou can define the start of an infinite series, just not the end. (Except as ∞ or -∞). You could also have an infinite set that extends both ways.
0 to ∞ contains an infinite amount of numbers. But so does 11 to ∞.
More filled rooms do not “appear”, the rooms just go on without end. These is no “last” guest who moves into some previously unoccupied room. It’s just… endless. Infinite.
It really only makes sense in abstract. Our minds aren’t built to deal with infinity.

bdonvr@thelemmy.clubto Science Memes@mander.xyz•He's gonna be walking for a little bitEnglish7·2 months agoInfinite hotel has infinity guests. You have all the guests move down 10 rooms. Rooms 1-10 are now free. Zero to Infinity and 11 to infinity are equally infinity, since numbers extend into infinity.
In the same manner if you have one set of infinite guests occupy all the even numbered rooms, you will still have an infinite number of rooms open, because the set of all odd (and even) numbers extends infinitely. You could have the first set of infinite guests take each hundredth room (100, 200, 300, etc), then the next set take 99, 199, 299, etc. in that way you could fit 100 sets of infinite guests.
It just illustrates that infinity is not an easily intuitable concept.

I like the backspace there like Colemak has. I can do Fn-Backspace(capslock) to activate Caps Lock but that’s something I added to my Keyboard separately.

Oh hey thanks for reminding me, freed 5GB which should buy me a bit of time on upgrading the server I use for this lemmy instance.

bdonvr@thelemmy.clubto Linux@lemmy.ml•Apparently, 12% of Technology Workers Believe that MacOS is based on Linux83·4 months agomacOS is UNIX, certified UNIX actually.
But I mean, if someone had the merest impression of macOS and was very familiar with Linux and never bothered to look any further then I’d understand. Maybe they only played around with macOS a little and saw the terminal app had bash and most all the familiar tools as on Linux. It’s not hard to see why they might’ve thought it’s Linux based.
Wasn’t this article just removed from another sub because this is (almost certainly) AI slop and a shitty AI riddled website with outrageous, unsubstantiated claims?
Like you do need to vet your sources even when they agree with your presuppositions.
