Sorry I only have this generic troubleshooting point to offer, but have you checked to see if NetworkManager might be modifying your IP routing table in unwanted ways during its operation?

From what you’ve described I’m under the impression that no Internet traffic needs to run through this system; perhaps NM is adding an unwanted default route?

Bro it’s cool if your needs are best served by Windows or OS X but please don’t lump me along with childish ideologues like OP. I’ve switched to Linux on my work Desktop about seven years ago, yet that didn’t make me feel the need to go full-communist about it, nor do I hold it up as some kind of free market success story.

That’s pretty neat. There’s also an SMB client called CIFS Documents Provider (by Atsushi Wada) that’s Free (MIT License) & open source.

Here’s a few I enjoy using that I haven’t seen mentioned yet:

• Phonograph Plus: elegant music player using Material UI design
• Etar +ICS² : Etar is a nice-looking calendar app that uses Material UI design, and ICS² enables me to sync the Holiday Calendars provided on Thunderbird.net.
• Etar+ DAVx² + NextCloud : enables syncing my local Etar calendar(s) with any NextCloud instance (using CalDAV). DAVx² also allows for syncing my Android contacts to NextCloud (using CardDAV)
• AnySoft Keyboard: extremely customizable, varied keyboard layouts, for those who want all punctuation marks and quote signs built-in.
• Irregular Expressions: alternative keyboard for goofing around with unicode textstyles (🅒🅘🅡🅒🅛🅔🅢, 𝕺𝖑𝖉 𝕰𝖓𝖌𝖑𝖎𝖘𝖍 𝕭𝖔𝖑𝖉, Ｅｘｔｒａ ｗｉｄｅ, etc.)
• Simple Notes : minimalist “note to self” memos.

Floris I gave it a try, I’m underwhelmed by the lack of punctuation/quote symbol options. Have you tried AnySoftKeyboard? Much more flexible in that department.

Thanks for sharing, I’m looking into RethinkDNS, and I’m not surprised it tries to establish a VPN tunnel to perform its duties. Thing is my phone already has a VPN client, which happens to be Mullvad. What exactly do you mean by “I use it with mullvad vpn’s wireguard config”?
