Odds are your Linux install overwrote OCLP. You’d need to install OCLP again and configure it to boot from either Mac OS or your Linux install.
And with GPT partition you can have 128 partitions so ~120 different OSes easily on a single drive.
OP is using OpenCore Legacy Patcher to run an newer OS on an unsupported machine. The option boot menu won’t work, they’d need to get back to the OCLP menu to boot Mac OS.

Not unlucky, they’re just garbage 3rd party batteries, and no official 1st party batteries.
Is your battery dead dead? It should work just fine with a 3rd party battery, I’ve never had any machines give me problems with 3rd party ones. It’s only when the battery is below 5% state of charge that it will throttle like that.
POST is supposed to check all CPU cores and all RAM. It’s check isn’t perfect, but it does check them all.

Also the trackpad. Nobody comes close to Apples trackpad drivers. From palm rejection, to gestures, to just simply pointing. Not even Microsoft’s precision track pads can compete.
Usually the wifi chips are broadcom based so they can be really shit on linux, but that obviously depends on the model.

Everything works great, laptop is at least 3x faster.
That you can easily tell is just 100% made up. Even on old machines Mac OS still runs great on them, it’s one of the best things Apple does for those devices.

I can 100% garuntee you the trackpad (the primary way of interacting with a laptop) will be nowhere near as good as in Mac OS.
Can it be done? Yes. But compared to Mac OS it’s an awful experience. Thankfully the machine predates the massive trackpad and Touch Bar. But leave the Mac running Mac OS, it’s a far better experience than the half baked Linux support.
And who knows, maybe you’ll like it? It converted me.
It’s a hardware issue not a software issue. If your laptop can run its webcam and not have the light turn on then it’s bad hardware. Software might get around one exploit, but that doesn’t fix what’s a hardware issue.
It’s not even machine specific. UEFI vs legacy bios boot mode is universally supported in all but the latest systems. If OP had to switch to legacy boot mode then they probably made the USB “incorrectly”. You’d run into the same issue on windows if you made the USB boot drive for legacy bios mode.
What standby mode does your laptop use? Classic S3 standby, or S0 standby like most modern laptops are forced into?
