Orient it so the LED is facing away from you, with the LED facing a surface covered with Vantablack or some such equivalent. This saves on tape etc…

Your hill - first two sentences absolutely, in UK so no chikfila.
Future generations are largely doomed by the apathy of the “we have nothing to hide” folks of today, or those who buy into the its “for the children” movement.

This. Exactly.

Yay. " Yay indeed. Just started my Cinnamon journey. Old Win7 laptop - never going back, to Apple either.

Absolutely. IIRC, the option of turning them off was only available to very high ranking members and even then only for relatively short periods of time.

Thanks, almost got it right. A long while since I listened.

That’s the one, thanks. Almost got it right!

Orwell got it wrong with the wall mounted screens - ‘they’ want us to wear the screens. What was that album title? 'If you accept this, your kids are next., ’ Can’t remember which band
Hi, I’m over 65 and I’ve just dumped Win and MacOS for Linux Mint Cinnamon. Not ever going back. So, yes you should bother definitely. As other posts says, decide on a distro, find the relevant forum, join and ask questions. I tried Mint Cinnamon, XFCE, and also Gnome. The Mints are most like Windows, Gnome is a bit different. My point is once you’ve got your head round doing the SHA256 checksum malarkey and installed it, check it out, install what you need. If it runs it great. Or try a few, it’s a great thing to learn. Personally, I find it’s fantastic to get away from the tricks and all round ensh*ttification of the Win/Mac worlds. As Nike say ‘Just Do It’. 😁
