A flawed democracy is still better than no democracy
Here on break
A flawed democracy is still better than no democracy
It’s not over yet, friend. There are still things worth fighting for, and still so, so much more we could lose. Don’t give up hope.
I mean technically, but it’s not like it’s trying to be subtle about it. From the page:
I believe that Facebook represents one of the gravest threats to democracies around the world […]
The point is to discourage instances from federating with threads.
Oh okay, that was a bad example then.
Yeah maybe unpopular in the greater culture, but certain not unpopular around here.
Found the centrist!
I’ll one up, Andor is the best thing to come out of Star Wars, even including the books, comics, games, and original trilogy.
I’m not a sports person but it seems like chess and video game match making have had this figured out for a while: just play ranked. Your rank can change at official events, like when you’re competing, and everyone gets matched with people around their skill level/ability, with the occasional hotshot rising through the ranks blowing everyone away.
While we’re focused on fairness let’s also match by height, and weight, wingspan, general body type, age, years of experience, amount spent on coaching, support of parents, emotional stability, and wrist circumference.
Wouldn’t want to be unfair.
Anchovies is the kind of fish
That one homemade pizza I made once.
Like I don’t even think I proofed the boules, but it was like chewy and crispy, with the perfect black peaks coming out of the oven.
Also lasagna sans carne.
Avocado toast on sourdough with a crispy fried egg on top.
Ghost Busters, the possessed vacuum cleaner scene gave me nightmares lol
Beautiful. Well done
Yup, I remember that interview. It was about pirates providing translations for the pirated games, that weren’t included by their creators.
Fair pricing is also part of that. Like when Netflix first came out, even with its pretty restricted catalogue, it was a good deal at the time.
zero value
Rofl yeah right, like your face didn’t light up the first time you heard the Halo theme.
Disney especially has all but totally captured their target demographics, and not many working parents are likely to put the time into setting up a Plex and torrenting movies for their kid(s). Sadly, it’s easier to shell over an unreasonably large fee, and let their kids have at it.
It’s families. Dual income with several kids, yeah the fees sting, but when your cashflow is high and your savings nil, $200 a year doesn’t sound crazy. It’s not smart, and it’s not fair, but if you know any parents of young children you can see how they could make that decision.
My partner drives our neighbour’s kids around sometimes, so we rack up seats on family streaming accounts that way.
