I really want to get into reading but i’m poor and i don’t have money for books, but it’s okay, because i prefer reading on my phone anyway 🥳. I just find book piracy on the phone so tedious because browsing the web on the phone in general is an awful experience. My adhd gamer brain also tends to gravitate towards the path of less friction, which means the easier i can make it to read the more i will naturally gravitate to reading whenever i have spare time.
Something like a Strem.io for books would be super helpful if it exists :D.
Smashwords has frequent sales where you can find good books or sometimes entire series for 100% off sometimes.
FWIW, in the US at least, you don’t have to live in the area to register for membership with any municipal library and you can have a many as you want.
Using Libby (et al), I can pretty easily find the book I’m looking for —or, then go look at Anna’s, etc. 🖖🏼
Libby and Hoopla :)
You’re literally just describing libraries…They have an app called Libby, it’s linked to your local library and let’s you borrow eBooks directly.
Wow really? does that work in denmark?
How about you use eReolen which is the Danish library app available to all Danish citizens. It even incloudes audiobooks.
Yes
WHAT THE SHIT IT WORKS!!! HOW HAS NOONE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS. THANK YOU
Don’t forget to check if residency is required for library membership! If not, go ham and collect 'em all! 🤩 Waitlists? Holds? Feh. No more!
Hvis det er dansk du leder efter kan du også låne danske ebøger i e-reolen appen
If in US, support your local library and use Libby with your library card. Libraries offer lots of free stuff. Besides that, I can’t answer you question, sorry.
Zlibrary, they have a app as well.
Mmm, IIRC, the non-Tor versions are compromised, but I might be stoned, too.
Have you noticed anything unusual?
Anna’s archive works perfectly fine on mobile.
There’s also webnovels on sites like royalroad and scribblehub, that’s pretty frictionless
Openlib is an app for Anna’s Archive
Truth.
god i miss podiobooks back in the early 2000s :(
just browse a book reviews site or a book store website and then pirate what you like. the electronic library has a telegram bot you can set up and you just need to give it a title to get the book
